Swaps you can make.

Out of an ingredient? Swap within a category, gram for gram, and the recipe stays balanced. The one rule: don’t swap the protein between recipes — each is calibrated to its own meat and fat.

Starchy veg  sweet potato ↔ butternut ↔ pumpkin ↔ parsnip
Green veg  broccoli ↔ green beans ↔ zucchini ↔ snow peas ↔ cabbage
Leafy greens  baby spinach ↔ kale (de-stemmed) ↔ silverbeet
Cruciferous  broccoli ↔ cauliflower ↔ cabbage
White fish  basa ↔ hoki ↔ ling ↔ flathead ↔ snapper
Olive oil  → avocado oil. Not coconut (too saturated for routine use).
Flaxseed oil  → walnut oil, or skip it — the premix’s DHA covers omega-3.
Salt  iodised preferred; plain is fine (the premix carries iodine).

Never add (toxic to dogs): onion, garlic, leek, chives, grapes, raisins / sultanas, avocado, macadamia nuts, chocolate / cocoa. Full toxic-foods guide →
